You are probably wondering: what’s ‘Tomassen’? Easy: it’s my lastname. Hi, nice to meet you. I’m Aartjan Tomassen. Founder of Tomassen Dutch Design Doors.

It all started on a cold winterday back at 2014. My wife came to me and showed a picture of a Dutch design door. The magazine described it as the biggest upcoming trend for next year. We loved the style and started our search online, but couldn’t find anything. Not even a single doorknob… What to do, what to do? At that moment (and still) I had a company specialized in entrance doors. So I decided to do it myself. Never underestimate a good DIY! Quite the challenge, but after a while my team and I succeeded.

We placed the door and within hours my mother in law walked by. The change in our living room took her attention. She wanted one herself. So it began. More people checked out our Dutch design door and the rumors spread. After some months we launched a brandnew website, the beginning of my adventure.

Nowadays Tomassen Dutch Design Doors is one of the biggest producers of steel doors. We’re the only one who works 100% handmade. Every door is a unique piece of affordable art. Measured and made by hand. No door is the same.

Holland and beyond

I never walk away from a challenge. Not only the Dutch, but the whole world should enjoy our designs. It turns your house into a home. Who doesn’t want that? Some people thought I’m crazy. The fact you’re reading this page proves them wrong.
